Kirt Martin is a multiple award-winning industrial designer who prior to joining Landscape Forms served as an executive for 17 years at Steelcase Inc. As Landscape Forms Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), Kirt has played an important role in the company’s robust growth, market expansion, and introduction of groundbreaking products. His work is informed by the conviction that experience of outdoor space promotes social and civic engagement, human health and well-being. He is committed to the creative convergence of design and business, leveraging the power of design to build the business and drive growth.

Ryan Heiser

Design

Ryan Heiser leads all of the company’s industrial design and graphic design functions, its studio engineering team, and its brand evolution initiatives. He is a talented industrial designer with more than a decade of design leadership experience, joining us from Newell Brands where he held senior positions in industrial design and design management for their housewares and writing instruments groups. Before Newell, he was a product designer for Chicago-based consultancy FreeForm. Ryan is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Design.

Brian Revoir

Senior Industrial Designer

Brian Revoir served for 11 years as Senior Product Designer with Michael Graves Design Group/Michael Graves and Associates designing award winning products. He has extensive experience in the management of multiple projects bringing consumer products for major international companies from concept to market. Revoir holds a degree in industrial design from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America).

Sean Simmons

Senior Industrial Designer

Sean Simmons is a seasoned industrial designer with a strong background in design for outdoor living. He previously worked with Newell Brands, as well as performance luggage manufacturer High Sierra, designing a range of specialty outdoor, travel and adventure products. Simmons graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in Industrial Design.

John Warren

Graphic Designer

John Warren is a graphic designer with a passion for creating purposeful work that tells the story of a product from concept to production. He is particularly interested in the relationship between objects, people, and the space they live in. A native to Southwest Michigan, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design from Western Michigan University.

Mariusz Kozien

Graphic Designer

Mariusz Kozien is a dynamic graphic designer with a unique focus in both industrial and furniture design. He received his Bachelor of Design in Industrial & Graphic Design from the University of Illinois, and studied furniture design in Scandinavia. Mariusz brings to life our furnishing, structure and lighting products in both the printed and digital worlds, drawing also on his prior design experience with Sixtysix Magazine and creating unique retail and trade show experiences for Whole Foods Market and the International Housewares Association.

Scott Klinker

Furniture designer, artist, and educator Scott Klinker heads the graduate 3D design program at the renowned Cranbrook Academy of Art as Designer-in-Residence, where he also received his MFA in 1996. His work there builds on the Cranbrook tradition of modern design - searching for new forms to address our changing needs. In line with Cranbrook's tradition of integrating Design, Art and Craft, he believes that the best forms are not conceived in the mind, but discovered with the hands. His broad approach to form giving is driven by an interest in remixing the categories of industrial design, architecture and sculpture.

Shane Coen

Coen+Partners

Contextual minimalism is how Coen+Partners defines its design approach. The Minneapolis-based landscape architecture firm’s commitment to minimalism is evident in project sites around the world. Shane Coen, along with partners Robin Ganser and Sara Czerwinski, explore the context of a site, including colors and patterns, natural and built elements, infrastructure and use. Every element of their work is informed by a site’s context, which they express through abstraction. The firm received the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Landscape Architecture in 2015, an Emerging Voices Award from the Architectural League of New York in 2009, the Progressive Architecture Award from Architecture magazine in 2003, and numerous ASLA national and Minnesota Chapter awards. Coen is a frequent lecturer at universities around the world and serves as a critic for Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Shane Coen founded Coen+Partners in 1991.

Justin Champaign

Motive lighting designer Justin Champaign and his grandfather shared a passion for automobiles, which led to industrial design studies in transportation design at the Academy of Art. But a summer job introduced him to furniture design, and he transferred to the California College of Art to study furniture design. A Design Within Reach-sponsored course, led by industrial designer Brian Kane, exposed Champaign to the contract furniture market, and things clicked. The relationship with Kane led to a job at contract furniture manufacturer Metro, part of the Steelcase portfolio. Metro evolved into Coalesse, and Champaign became its first industrial designer, involved in all aspects of the business, including brand development. Champaign’s interests turned to power, which he saw as an essential component to furniture but lacking the thoughtfulness it deserved. This interest took Champaign to Pablo Lighting, where he worked at the intersection of craft and technology, designing one of the first lighting and USB charging products on the market.

Ian McDonald

Ian McDonald is an artist with a unique philosophy that plays at the distinctive intersection of sculpture and craft. One of today’s most regarded potters with a portfolio that ranges from traditional vessels to free-form sculpture and mixed-media installations, his experience has led him to the current position of Head of Ceramics at the renowned Cranbrook Academy of Art. Here, Ian leads a rigorous studio practice that explores the ceramic spectrum, finding inspiration in its position as a material for conceptual form and idea making.

Rodrigo Torres

As a graduate student at the prestigious Domus Academy in Milan, Italy, Rodrigo Torres discovered a connection between his Latin American cultural and modernist design influences and the school's emphasis on design as storytelling. Torres' diverse portfolio of products, from Landscape Forms' Torres lights to smart faucets, furniture, pencil sharpeners, and toys, reflects a design imprint that marries the whimsical with the rational. The honest, sleek aesthetic of Torres' products pays tribute to another great influence in his life, Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni, with whom he studied and worked. Design by Rodrigo Torres was founded in 2004, and while Torres works with clients around the world, his studio remains in his native Colombia. He has collaborated on award-winning designs with companies including Alessi, Poliform, Oras, Cassina IXC, Nike, Microsoft, Domodinamica, and Potocco. In 2016, Torres received the Red Dot Award for Il Bagno Alessi SENSE smart faucets by Oras and the Lapiz de Acero design award in 2005, 2008, and 2016. Torres' work has been recognized in publications and exhibitions in Europe, Asia, and the U.S., and his design influence is expanding through his role as a visiting professor and project leader in Domus Academy's Product and Interactive Design Program and as a visiting professor at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin.

Claudia Issa

Claudia Issa a São Paolo-based ceramicist and designer, is the latest artist to offer creative inspiration and define a new aesthetic vocabulary through Kornegay Design’s Visiting Artist Program. Issa’s work often incorporates elements of intentional imperfection, creating nontraditional beauty out of traditionally discarded materials and organic, asymmetrical forms—a creative vision that both draws on Larry Kornegay’s original artistic intent but also inspires a new direction for the brand.

Jess Sorel, sorelstudio

sorelstudio, located in the Denver Metro area, provides product design, creative direction and design strategy services to its clientele. Jess Sorel’s creative work lies at the intersection of his artful approach and uncommon technical understanding. Driven by his desire to understand the context in which objects are made and used, Sorel’s primary focus is on interpreting the world around him as the evolution of culture and technology impact the way we live, work and play. Sorel’s work has been recognized both domestically and internationally with numerous industry awards and has been featured in Abitare, Azure, Blueprint, Contract, Domus, Dwell, Fast Company, I.D. Magazine, Interior Design and Metropolis as well as many design blogs and online publications.

Gustafson Guthrie Nichol Ltd

Gustafson Guthrie Nichol Ltd. is a landscape architecture practice with special experience in designing high-use landscapes in complex, urban contexts. Based in Seattle, GGN works throughout the Americas and Asia. Its projects are developed by designers with professional backgrounds in landscape, architecture, engineering, graphics, ecology, and other sciences. GGN's award-winning projects include Lurie Garden in Chicago's Millenium Park, which brings the ecology of Chicago's native prairie into a dense downtown neighborhood. For Landscape Forms GGN has designed the Maggie bench and Charlie table, and UrbanEdge, an integrated collection of site elements that looks at design and planning for the city center in a new way. Project awards include multiple ASLA National Design Excellence Awards and AIA/ASLA Honor and Merit awards for Design, and the 2012 Tucker Design Award. In 2011, GGN was the recipient of the Smithsonian's prestigious Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Award for Landscape Architecture.

KEM Studio

Founders Jonathon Kemnitzer and Brad Satterwhite created KEM STUDIO based on the idea of “better design better living,” a philosophy that merged industrial design and architecture to approach projects more holistically. KEM STUDIO works with a variety of clients on diverse projects, from concepts with Airstream, residential, commercial and cultural architecture with public and private entities, and speakers and amplifiers for Martin Logan to furniture for Herman Miller, kayak helmets for Shred Ready, whiteboards for Ghent, and corporate spaces for Adobe. The firm has received numerous awards, including GOOD Design awards for product and architectural design, Best of NeoCon award, HiP honors, IDEA awards, and AIA awards. KEM STUDIO is based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Brian Kane

Brian Kane established Kane Design Studio in San Francisco in 1989 following tenure as designer for Metropolitan Furniture, later acquired by Steelcase. Kane has designed several of Landscape Forms most popular and critically acclaimed benches including Presidio, Sonoma, Town Square, Washington Square, and Hyde Park, as well as the Annapolis bollard. His bench designs marry graceful curves with comfort and strength to meet the special demands of exterior seating. Hyde Park was awarded the APEX Commendation for design.

Rick Reeder

AIA, LEED AP

Rick Reeder is founder and principal of designStream, a full service firm specializing in architecture, planning and product design based in Winchester, MA. Reeder's work ranges from the design of corporate buildings and private residences to museum exhibitions and a South American Eco-community. His work has been exhibited at the Museum or Modern Art and his Push Pull Pin in the recipient of a Red Dot Award. The Reeder Illuminated Sign, Reeder Illuminated Bike Rack, and Paladin and Sentinel bollards for Landscape Forms are multi-functional wayfinding elements expressed in strong minimalist forms that beautifully compliment contemporary architecture and landscapes.

Lionel Morrison

FAIA

Lionel Morrison's residential and commercial work has been consistently recognized with over 30 design awards. He has served on design juries throughout the Southwest and lectured at various universities and associations. He holds a design Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects and was named Distinguished Alumnus at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Architecture in 1996, He received the Architectural Award from the American Society of Interior Designers in 1997. Lionel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. True to Morrison's architecture the new Landscape Forms Morrison Collection has simple lines and elegant shapes.

Margaret McCurry

Margaret McCurry is an architect, Chicago native, and graduate Loeb Fellow in Advanced Environmental Studies from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. In 1982 she merged her architecture and interiors practice to form Tigerman McCurry Architects, a firm committed to the creation of a contemporary and authentically American architecture and the recipient of seven national AIA awards. McCurry's work focuses on residential architecture and interiors. Lakeside benches and receptacles and Windmark chairs, table and ottoman for Landscape Forms reflect themes and idioms explored in the architecture. She is a member of the INterior Design Hall of Fame, was named "Designer of Distinction" for 2002 by ASID and an "Icon of Design" by Traditional Home Magazine in 2009. Her Lakeside Collection received Interior Design Magazine's Best of the Year Award in 2006.

Larry Kornegay

Larry Kornegay has been a working artist for forty years, bringing together his fine arts background and design skills in a multi-faceted design carer while continuing to work as a sculptor. In 1998 Kornegay's knowledge and love of concrete, design, landscape, and sculpture came together when he founded Kornegay Design, LLC, to produce a refined product line of landscape containers. The company, based in Phoenix, Arizona, brings an unsurpassed level of design, sophistication, and standard of craftsmanship to pre-cast concrete container design and production. Landscape Forms offers Larry Kornegay's large, elegant case concrete Larkspur planters.

Modello USA

Modello USA is a hands-on design studio. Literally. Initial hand sketches begin as simple drawings, then are embellished with shadow and color. Full-scale and fully functional prototypes follow, a process that employs the studio’s unique and rounded skill set, from design to manufacturing and engineering. Prototype iterations refine the product and serve as the master model for creating the digitized images from which products are manufactured. Modello USA, which specializes in the design of ergonomic seating, is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Frog has designed some of the market’s most significant products, including the Sony Trinitron, the Apple Computer and Disney Cruise Lines. Headquartered in California’s Silicon Valley, it has additional offices in the US and Germany. The 35 Collection created in collaboration with Landscape Forms is the first integrated site furniture collection designed specifically to foster social interaction in outdoor spaces.

Linnaea Tillett Lighting Design Associates

Linnaea Tillett Lighting Design Associates is an award-winning landscape lighting design firm with over 35 years of experience with projects across the United States and Canada. The firm has forged a highly acclaimed body of work by treating every project as an opportunity to find the poetic in the functional, the elegant in the robust, and simplicity in technical and regulatory complexity. The New York-based firm’s portfolio includes urban parks, waterfronts, connective corridors, and cultural campuses as well as public and private art collections. The firm collaborates frequently with leading landscape architects, architects, and public artists including Maya Lin, Toshiko Mori, Nelson Byrd Woltz, OLIN, GGN, and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.

Arno Yurk

Arno Yurk was Vice President of Design at Landscape Forms for 26 years prior to his retirement in 2012. He brought fifteen years of experience as a practicing architect to his role at Landscape Forms where his creative insight and expertise in the unique requirements of site furniture and its function in outdoor space significantly advanced the company’s collaboration with leading international design partners. Arno, who holds several design patents, designed numerous signature Landscape Forms products including the Scarborough, Gretchen, Manistee and Petosky benches, and the Carousel table with attached seating which received an IDEA Bronze Award.

Kipp Stewart

Kipp Stewart, a highly regarded American furniture designer, has left an indelible mark on the industry. Trained as an architect, Stewart’s disciplined approach and profound respect for traditional craftsmanship earned him a distinguished reputation within the design profession. His acclaimed furniture pieces are celebrated for their simple yet elegantly functional designs. Having spent significant time studying in Europe, Kipp Stewart developed a deep appreciation for history and classical forms which significantly influenced his work. He also credits the late Charles Eames, with whom he collaborated, as an important source of inspiration. Throughout his career, Stewart was the recipient of numerous industry accolades, recognizing his exceptional talent and contributions. In addition to furniture design, Kipp Stewart’s artistic pursuits included painting, photography, and architecture. Notably, his architectural masterpiece, the Ventana Inn, stands as a testament to his harmonious integration of design with the natural beauty of the Big Sur landscape. Stewart’s landscape paintings have been showcased in esteemed museums and galleries, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
